Common questions
Is it a sin to be angry?
Ephesians 4:26 says to be angry and not sin, so feeling anger is not called sin in itself. The Bible warns about what anger can lead to, such as holding on to it overnight, lashing out or using it to hurt someone. James 1:20 adds that human anger does not produce the righteousness God wants.
What does the Bible say to do when you are angry?
Proverbs 15:1 says a gentle answer turns away wrath, and James 1:19 says to be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. Together they point to a simple pattern: pause, answer softly and settle the matter soon, as Ephesians 4:26 urges.
