Common questions

What does the Bible say about forgiving others?

Ephesians 4:32 says to forgive one another as God in Christ forgave you, and Colossians 3:13 repeats the point. In Matthew 6:14-15 Jesus ties receiving forgiveness to being willing to forgive.

How many times should I forgive someone?

When Peter asked if seven times was enough, Jesus answered with seventy times seven, or seventy-seven times in some translations (Matthew 18:21-22). The point is not a count to track but a habit of forgiving without keeping score.
