Common questions
What is the difference between joy and happiness in the Bible?
Happiness often depends on circumstances, while biblical joy rests on God and can exist alongside sorrow. In Habakkuk 3:17-18 the prophet says he will rejoice in the LORD even if the crops fail, and James 1:2 speaks of joy in trials.
Which verse says the joy of the LORD is my strength?
Nehemiah 8:10. After the law was read aloud, Nehemiah and Ezra told the people to stop weeping and celebrate, because the joy of the LORD was their strength.
