Common questions
How should I pray according to the Bible?
Jesus taught his followers to pray sincerely and privately (Matthew 6:6) and gave a model prayer that begins at Matthew 6:9. Philippians 4:6 says to bring your requests to God with thanksgiving.
How often should I pray?
First Thessalonians 5:17 says to pray without ceasing, which means keeping an ongoing conversation with God through the day, not only at set times. Many people also keep a regular time, as Jesus did when he withdrew to pray (Luke 5:16).
