A thought for today
Be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded. The prophet Azariah says this to King Asa and the people. Keep going with what God has set in front of you.
About 2 Chronicles 15:7
The story behind it
Second Chronicles retells the story of the kings of Judah. Asa, king of Judah, is coming back from a victory over a large army when the prophet Azariah, son of Oded, meets him (15:1 to 2). This speech follows the account of that battle in chapter 14.
What it means
Azariah says the Lord is with them when they are with him, and that seeking him leads to finding him (verse 2). He recalls troubled years when the people lacked the true God (verses 3 to 6). Verse 7 then says to be strong and not give up. Asa responds with reforms, removing idols and renewing the altar (verse 8).
Why this verse: Perseverance
Perseverance fits because the verse encourages you to keep going without promising it will be easy. It helps when you are tired of doing what is right and want to stop.
